Wild Atlantic Way

Ireland's Coastal Touring Route

Irelands Wild Atlantic Way

The longest coastal touring route in the world awaits, discover for yourself the amazing signature viewing points along this scenic route. Doolin, and Seascape B&B in particular is situated approximately half way along the route, and in a prime location for exploring some of the Wild Atlantic Way's viewing points.

Local Sights

The closest viewing point to Doolin is Doolin Pier. A new pier completed in mid 2015 to serve the many boats ferrying passengers between Doolin and the Aran Islands. There are three islands in total and you have lots of options to tour them. Day trips to each island in turn is probably the best option, you could even spend longer discovering the sights and scenery. You can get in contact with either of Doolin's ferry companies down at the pier for their time tables and tour options.

Cliffs of Moher Storm at Doolin Pier

Cliffs of Moher

Ireland's most famous and main signature viewing point on the Wild Atlantic Way is the Cliffs of Moher. These majestic cliffs stand 214m (702 feet) above sea level, with views up and down the Atlantic coastline, from Connemara and Galway to Loop Head and on to Kerry. Better still there is a Coastal Walking Trail from Doolin along the Cliffs of Moher towards Liscannor. The 8km trail from Doolin to the cliffs visitor centre is an excellent way to discover this rugged coastline. Daily guided walks from Fisher Street in Doolin where you can learn more about the history, folklore, flora and fauna of the area from local farmer Pat Sweeney are available. Pat will show you some of the best locations for pictures as this trail crosses two sections of his farm and he knows the cliffs like no-one else.

Return to Doolin Pier and take a cruise along the base of the Cliffs of Moher to witness the majestic beauty of these famous cliffs as the tower above you. See the many sea birds that call the Cliffs of Moher home.
